This Week's Hot Grocery Deals

We have a new sale starting today at our Boulder Sprouts stores, while the current one continues at Whole Foods through April 29th and at Vitamin Cottage through May 31st. Click the links for prior reports.

In Sprouts' new sale through April 30th, the big news to me is the return of the Vitamin and Body Care Extravaganza, with everything in that department 25% off. I'm also liking previously frozen Alaskan sockeye salmon fillets for $8.99 a pound, whole, split or cut up chickens $1.59 a pound, chicken breast tenders are okay at $2.49 a pound, and stuffed clams (also crab or scallops) $1.50 each. Generally it seems to be a week of price increases, for instance the "sausage bonanza" now $3.49 a pound instead of $2.99.

In organic produce at Sprouts, Italian squash (think zucchini) or cauliflower are both $1.50 a pound, Cameo apples and Bartlett pears are also both $1.50 a pound, cantaloupe or honeydew melons are just 98 cents a pound, one pound packages (hate those prepackaged things) of green beans are $2.98 each, and four pound bags of either red grapefruits or Valencia oranges are $1.98 each. Elsewhere in the store, Fage Fruyo Greek yogurts are $1 each, and there's a "line drive savings" of 25% off all Cascadian Farms fruits and veggies.
