Taking It Easy For Labor Day

Isn't that what Labor Day is about? In addition to liking to save money, I look to our local natural foods sales for inspiration, and this week the sales at Whole Foods are channeling that I should just kick back. Grilling of course is mandatory, so tomorrow we'll send the family griller out to the grill with the turkey brats that are on sale for $3.99 a pound, and we'll serve them in Whole Foods' beautiful organic French baguette that's $1.99 a loaf. Making it even easier, I'll try the Market Made Hatch chile potato salad that's nearly half off at $3.99 a pound on the side, and maybe make a caprese salad with the organic heirloom tomatoes ($3.99 a pound), the weekend sale on Belgioioso fresh mozzarella ($6.99 a one pound log just through tomorrow) and my own fresh basil. Corn on the cob would be classic too, for which I'll pedal out to Munson's or just get even lazier by picking that up a Whole Foods as well. Sounds like a great way to unofficially see out the end of summer. There will be plenty of other opportunities for fancier plans.
